Compassion Challenges -

Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 - July 2017

Challenge Information

Celebrating the legacy for cycling created by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 starts at 06:00 in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, then follows a 100-mile route on closed roads through the capital and into Surrey’s stunning countryside. With leg-testing climbs and a route made famous by the world’s best cyclists at the London 2012 Olympics, it's a truly spectacular event for all involved. The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 finishes on The Mall in central London, shortly before 150 professional cyclists race in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic on a similar route.

Compassion Challenges has ten places to give away and are looking for general ballot runners to join the team.

DATE: 30 July 2017

DISTANCE: 100 miles

COST: Free

LOCATION: Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, UK

FUNDRAISING TARGET: £999 or 2 children sponsored

Our Compassion Challenges team will be raising funds for mosquito nets at Compassion projects in Uganda.

It costs just £4.50 to provide a child with an insecticide-treated net that could save their life.

Across the child development centres it works with, Compassion Uganda has observed that the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in registered children is malaria. In fact, Uganda has among the highest incidences of malaria in the world; approximately 70,000 to 100,000 children die of the disease annually.

The money raised will go towards providing 9,300 individuals across 20 centres in Bugiri, Busia, Iganga and Pallisa with PermaNets®, the insecticide-treated nets recommended by the Ugandan Ministry of Health.
