I'm running the 2024 London Marathon in aid of Compassion UK.
Hi, I'm Pete, 43 years old and a senior civil servant based in Market Drayton, Shropshire. I'm married to Katharine and we are greatly blessed to have three boys; Joshua, Isaac and Caleb. In my local church I'm a lay preacher and, as part of a fantastic team, am in the early stages of pastoring a church plant.
It will be a huge joy for me to combine two great passions of mine - running and supporting Compassion UK's work. Both as a family and through our local church, we've been sponsoring children through Compassion for many years, and it has been fantastic and humbling to witness the life-changing impact of its work.
I'm a keen runner, with one marathon and many half marathons under my belt, and I can't wait to experience the fantastic occasion that is the London marathon for the first time. Thank you so much for your support, which will do so much to transform lives in Jesus' name, and will make the (very!) early morning long training runs easier to tolerate...
