Nikki ; Having always said that I didn't want to do a half marathon; I just run to stay fit yet here I am signing up to go those extra miles to complete a half a marathon in Rwanda!!
Ashley: Hearing what my slightly crazy mother-in -law was undertaking , I thought why not join her (even though I didn't do much running at the time). As we both have a heart to see children free of poverty and given a chance to go to school.

Nikki : I am 53 years old a wife and mother to 4 fantastic Children (all grown up now) Nanny Nik to 2 year old lively, loveable grandson and in October 2019 my second grandchild arrived a beautiful granddaughter this time.
I started running as a way of getting fit 4 and half years ago following serious illness. I try and run about 3 or 4 times per week approx 5k with by trusted 4 legged friend Marley dog and have taken part in a couple of 10k races to raise funds for other charities close to my heart Force Cancer Charity and Children's Liver Disease Foundation.
Ashley: I am 29 years old, husband to Nikki's daughter Dorcas and last year became a Dad to a beautiful daughter Molly. After my few charitable trips to South Africa, it's firmly within my heart that I want to see a world where we have no children in poverty, and where all children have to opportunity to go to school. This why in June, I've decided to partake in a charitable challenge at the extreme end, running a half marathon in Rural Rwanda.
We are not raising any money towards the cost of the trip this is is being funded personally.
Together we are taking part in Rwanda 2019 as this is a life changing opportunity to support Compassion who change children's lives helping them out of extreme poverty. It is a unique opportunity to meet the children and see the support they receive through Compassion, as well as achieve more child sponsorship and raise additional funds to build homes for families. Nikki will be completely out of her comfort zone never having travelled outside of Europe!
We both have a heart to see children free of poverty and the opportunity to positive future for themselves and their families.
