Hello! I am Becky, 26 years old and living in Manchester.
I have wanted to run a marathon for a very long time, however always been sure I will only ever run a marathon once in my life... wanting my one and only marathon to be the iconic LONDON MARATHON!!! Who knows, I may enjoy become addicted?
5 Fun and Random Facts About Me:
I've recently rehomed a 12 year old cat called Columbo (I am in love with him).
My favourite food is Spaghetti Bolognese (carb loading come at me).
I grew up in Turkey (read more below).
I have been in two TV commercials (claim to fame).
I struggle to keep my Aloe Vera alive (any tips?).
I’ll be running to save the lives of vulnerable mothers and babies in Togo, by supporting the important work of Compassion’s child survival projects through their Different Path Appeal. If you give before 24 June 2019 your donation will be doubled by the UK government so we will be able to support even more mothers and babies.
I have sponsored a child through Compassion for the past 4 years, as soon as I got my first full time job. I grew up in Turkey; my parents were missionaries working in a local orphanage, they ran outdoor pursuits activities and most weekends we’d go up into the Turkish mountains to climb, build campfires, or canoe.
This has very much touched my life, it has made my heart ache for those who do not have the safe, loving and privileged life I have been born into.
I have witnessed first hand what small actions can provide for those in underdeveloped countries, I have seen my Dad volunteer as an aid worker after destructive earthquakes hit Turkey and I have fundraised for a personal trip to India to teach in a school for children with learning difficulties.
I have donated to children who are in need at every opportunity that I can and for running the London Marathon for Compassion is my next challenge.
