A few years ago I decided I really needed to get fit! So my husband encouraged me to go running with him and now I'm happy to say I've completed three 10k races and I've gone faster every time. Like most people, it helps me to have some motivation as I'm feeling tired running around the course - so what better way to keep me going than by knowing that every step I take in the Birmingham 10k will make a difference to a baby's and child's life.
Babies in poverty are too often the victims of infant mortality. Millions of children around the world die within their first year of life due to a lack of resources, delivery complications, malnutrition, and preventable diseases. This should not be happening.
Compassion’s Survival initiative focuses on promoting development and survival of the most vulnerable babies, while also providing education and support for the mother or primary caregiver. The mission of Survival is to ensure that the critical needs of babies and mothers are being met immediately.
So please help me reach or even exceed my fundraising target. Or how about sponsoring a child? - this is a wonderful way of bringing hope and love to a child in need - and by sending and receiving letters/emails and photos you can get to know that child and see how your generosity helps them grow and progress through their childhood.
