Challenge: Brighton Marathon as first-timer
I am training to achieve a life ambition and run a Marathon, to help raise money for Compassion UK. Running 26.2 miles might not seem much to an experienced runner, but when you have never done it before, it is a bit scary! Our family sponsor a 7 year-old girl in Haiti in one of the Compassion children's projects, and I want to give the money I raise to support her project in Gros Mangles, Haiti. As the poorest country in the western hemisphere, devastated in 2010 by a massive earthquake and then by Hurricane Matthew in 2016, the economy is fragile, and many children work rather than receive education.
Compassion do brilliant work with over 100,000 children in the country (but half a million Haitian children are thought to be child slaves).
