I love running - and I personally think the London Marathon is the greatest race in the world. But what makes it so great isn't the course, although it is stunning to run through the most wonderful city in the world. It isn't the elite athletes either, although it is inspiring to see such stellar performances year-on-year. What makes it great is the sheer quantity of people taking on a tough challenge on behalf of loved ones, or causes they personally identify with. It's the greatest single fundraising event in the world, and that is what makes it so special.

Running for a cause makes it all the more worthwhile. I have had the privilege of seeing the difference a Compassion school project can make to the local area and I am so excited that in running the marathon I can contribute to building a school for this project in Uganda.

In September Cordelia is off to school - it is inspiring to think that in the same school year, kids there too will have a wonderful place to learn... But it will only happen with your help.
