Andy Fanner, Romsey (near Southampton) ORDINARY PERSON, EXTRAORDINARY LIFE Christian, engineer, keen mountain biker, love to cook, prefer to eat!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my compassion challenges page!
A muskathlon gives me a fantastic opportunity to take part in doing something a little 'extreme'. The muskathlon i am taking part in is a 120Km mountain biking ride in Uganda. I love mountain biking and crave adventure. I would love to eradicate poverty in the world, but realise i cannot do this on my own. I have teamed up with 4MUK to stand up for justice and with ease have decided compassion is the charity to support. Compassion do some incredible work and bring an enormous amount of HOPE to the projects that they are involved with!
Do you ever feel uncomfortable in your rather comfortable lifestyle? Yet still complain that the shower was 'too cold' or that you're still 'hungry' after a full day of meals not having skipped one in the last month or year?! Well that's me! I've got it so good! Knowing others could only dream of just one of those things that makes up normal life makes me feel like I've got to do so do something. MUSKATHON, let's improve the lives of others!! "Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.” Luke 3.11
But i am only one man with a vision! A muskathlon is far greater than i am and so i give it all i have. This has meant a training in the early hours of the morning before work and committing to an intense training program. Your support encourages me to keep doing so and i get excited when i see the figures changing!
£10,000 is a significant amount of money to raise, but we will do it. WE CAN DO IT! Last week i spent near on £30 in coffees and snacks on the road while traveling from site to site for work. I didn't need any of these things and could have saved money by being better prepared and bringing a flask or extra food..... Could i have given up the coffee and instead given the money to the poor? Could you?
Please be challenged by thinking 'what i could i do to improve the world?' and 'could i support an incredible cause by making a small donation?'.
Thank you for taking time for reading my page. All your support spurs me on and encourages me to get out and train, even when it is 4am, raining and my spirit is completely dampened! Do something amazing today!
