My Challenge:
To climb Mount Kilimanjaro with Compassion UK over a duration of 9 days from 27 February to 8 March 2020. It will provide the experience to visit Compassion’s programmes in Tanzania and meet the children and young adults whose lives have been changed by sponsorship through Compassion

I've had the privilege of sponsoring children intermittently over a period of 20 years from different parts of the world and the opportunity to meet one of my sponsored children too! It is simply the most wonderful experience I've ever had.
I love to travel and experience different cultures however this adventure is so much more than that, it gives the opportunity to keep fit (and possibly lose a bit of weight!) Most importantly through sponsorship a childs' story is changed.
I've sponsored children for up to 20 years albeit privately for the greater part of those years . Visiting my sponsored child made me realise, sponsorship is not actually private - I need to speak up for many more children and allow other children and individuals benefit from this wonderful experience. I think the challenge will enable me to speak up more effectively for many more children. My personal target is to find sponsors for 50 children this year. You can help me achieve this target by a one-off donation or monthly commitments through sponsorship.
Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, the fourth highest of the world’s Seven Summits, and the highest free-standing mountain in the world - it is not a small challenge but it will certainly be the most rewarding to see many more children sponsored through Compassion UK.
