I'm a mum, a Methodist minister, and a slightly crackers runner! Having lost almost 8st and discovered a love for running I want to use my slightly bonkers running to raise money to improve the lives of others, in the same way my life has been made better through running
The Compassion Child Survival project is all about supporting new parents, which is a cause I'm passionate about. In the first few years of my children's lives I've received so much support, from breastfeeding groups, baby carrying training, and friendship groups who have helped me navigate the huge emotional and physical challenges of parenting. Compassion offer this support and care in places around the world where the survival of children beyond infancy is precarious. Every parent and every child deserve the support my family and I have received.
The other half of my fundraising will go to the project in Uganda my church are connected with, supporting children and the whole community out of poverty, through education and practical community resources, because every single child matters.
