Hi, so I’m Sam! I’m a mum of one 8 year old girl and live and work in Scarborough. Honestly, let’s get one thing straight... I’m not a runner, so this challenge is going to be super hard for me but I decided to run this years London Marathon as I love a challenge (oops!!!), major downfall in life but I believe God put us on this Earth to live our lives to the maximum! I used to run about 11 years ago and have run the London Marathon once before in my 20’s when I was a million times fitter!!!
This is going to be a struggle and I’m sure it’s going to hurt but hopefully all my pain will be worth it when I raise money for Compassion UK!
I first found out about the work of Compassion about 5 years ago at a Hillsong conference- From that point Myself and my daughter Delilah have sponsored Clarisse who lives with her family in a rural area of Burkina Faso in Africa.
Approximately 385 million children live in poverty across the world and that figure is just unimaginable. Compassion’s work is there to provide some of those children with a chance at survival.
Clarisse writes to us regularly and we write back. It’s a great opportunity for Delilah, my daughter to understand how lucky she is to have been born in the first world and how she can bless others through giving.
