London Marathon 2020 for Compassion UK
Online Total: £817.00
Offline Total: £0.00
Gift Aid: £202.50
My name's Max, I am currently 17 years old, but will be 18 by the day of the marathon.
I am extremely excited to be running my first ever marathon for Compassion UK, an amazing charity very close to my and my family's hearts.
I have always been very determined to challenge myself in sport, I play football competitively for a local semi-professional club, as well as running and going to the gym 3-4 times a week.
However, I have never taken the huge step to running a marathon, but I cannot wait to get training and raise as much money as possible for this great charity.
I strongly believe that child poverty is one of the most serious and widespread global issues. I believe that every child should be given every opportunity possible in early life, however sadly, this isn't always the case.
But with Compassion, children in poverty are given huge support as well as a platform of generous funding from donors, ensuring they can receive a proper education, as well as good food and a strong shelter.
My parents and I, as well as my grandparents, sponsor children; we love receiving letters and drawings from our sponsored children, as well as being able to see exactly how our donations have helped the children.
I am running the 2020 London Marathon with the driven ambition of not only raising money for this incredible charity, but also raising awareness to child poverty, and how regular people can make a small contribution every month, and really change a child's life and provide them with opportunities through proper education, food and shelter.
Thank you so much for your support and all of your generous donations!
