My journey to Kenya
So I guess as you've reached this page you will already know that I am off to Kenya on the 8th June to complete a 62km trex in aid of Compassion UK against the fight in releasing children living in extreme poverty.
I'm sure you will agree that our beginning in life can shape our future in many ways and for children living in poverty their dreams are just that if we don't take action
I hope by sharing a little bit of my story and friendship with my sponsored child Joy I can demonstrate how life changing a sponsorship can be for both sponsor and child. Joy is not just my sponsor, she is part of me and my family. I feel extremely blessed to be in a position to offer some sense of hope and better quality of life to my sponsored child. Sharing a friendship with Joy and watching her development and growth has been a inspiration to me and has taught me to be less selfless.
My goal is to raise as many sponsorships as possible but should this not be for you any donation will be greatly appreciated. All funds that are raised will go towards a Solar Power light incentive that will provide solar lamps to 1,500 rural families. Each lamp costing £62.00 will bring light and love into so many homes.
In the world where a child dies from poverty-stricken causes every three seconds , it's easy to feel that there’s nothing we can can do-that we’re too small to make a difference.
But behind the global statics , facts and figures there are children just like Joy .
By sponsoring Joy I was able to contribute towards changing this. When you sponsor a child, you’re giving them access to education, and a future free from poverty.
Sponsoring Joy cost as little as 83p per day and for Joy this gift is truly life changing.
Through sponsorship Joy and other children just like her can receive Educational support, school uniform, vocational training, medical care and nutritional support as well as spiritual development.
So I hope this helps you to understand why Compassion UK and this trip is so important to me.
The full cost of the trip has been lovingly met by me and 100% of your donations goes directley to Compassion UK.
I'm am by no means an athlete but I'm giving it everything I have and I am really excited for this challenge and adventure ahead.
Thank you for the bottom of my heart for supporting and believing in me .I AM GRATEFUL FOR EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOUπ
Love & blessings to all of my wonderful friends and family and to all the lovely kind people that may not know me but have made a donation. Thank you for joining me on this adventure. xx
