My Challenge:
To run half a marathon to raise money to sponsor more children to be able to receive food, education, lifeskills and other teaching. This is a real challenging at altitude and in the heat. I've started training and aim to be on track for the half marathon before I go in June 2018.

I think what Compassion does is fantastic in changing children's lives - providing healthcare, education, life skills and teaching them about Jesus and what a difference knowing him makes. This will be a huge challenge for me as I'm more used to cycling and running uses a completely different set of muscles! However the challenge is nothing like the challenges the children face every day so I'm really grateful.
I'm someone who's sponsored a little girl in Kenya for several years and I've seen such a difference in her over the years. It's brilliant to see how the Compassion project is changing both hers and her family's lives.I'm very much looking forward to seeing my sponsored child Penninah when I'm out there.. I also think providing solar energy to homes as well as sponsoring children is great, as it keeps people healthy and gives them free light. A solar powered light bulb costs £62 and would make such a difference to a home.
