I am not really a runner but started during the 1st Lockdown. I never thought I’d really enjoy it, I just wanted out the house. However, it’s made a huge difference not just physically but mentally too, it’s my time to escape and reflect. Therefore, this year 2022 I decided to challenge myself and run with and for a purpose. So this year I’m running the Edinburgh Marathon in aid of Compassion UK.
I want to be challenged and help make a difference. I’m not looking for a medal or to beat my wife’s London marathon time. I’m running to help make a difference in the lives of others. By committing to run for Compassion, a charity my my and I have supported for many years I know that your donations, support and prayers will make a difference. When I’m tried and don’t feel like training or going out for that long run, it’s knowing that I’m running to make a difference, and that’s what helps motivate me.
