I'm running the 2023 London Marathon in aid of Compassion UK.
Those who know me will also know that whilst The London Marathon carries a certain prestige, it will also be one of my shortest challenges.
To up the stakes a little, and to encourage you to dig into your pockets, I will be making it a bit harder.
Compassion UK is all about children in poverty, and carrying them to a better life. With that in mind, I'm going to carry a "child.'
I'm currently sponsoring Betty in Uganda. She will be 5 when I run, and I will carry her weight in a weighted vest.
I love running, and I love the work that Compassion do.
Our family, at present, sponsors 4 children through compassion, and we have previously sponsored two others and have watched them mature into adulthood.
Compassion is about so much more than feeding the hungry. It's a spiritual investment in them and their future, equipping children to grow to their potential, and supporting their families and communities.
I have run many races over the years but I have not, as yet, run The London Marathon, so I am privileged and excited to do so for Compassion.
