Steve and Sam, married with 3 older children and a fur baby!
Our passion is to help widows and orphans across the UK and the world, so far we have done so in Ethiopia, Turkey, Iraq, Bosnia, France and the UK
We have been sponsoring Beba in Ethiopia since Easter 2015 when our youngest child picked her from so many beautiful photos whilst we were away at our first visit to Spring Harvest, a Christian conference held every year at Butlins, Skegness. We have all made lifelong friends and deepened our faith in Jesus.
Beba is part of our family as is her lovely Mum, she sadly lost her Dad when she was little....we try to stand in that gap for her and her Mum and as she is an orphan and Mum is pretty ill, we felt compelled to support them further
.
She attends a church in Ethiopia, she attends school and attends the Compassion project where she is given extra food, clothes, health checks and writes to us, Our £28 monthly sponsorship cover that,
We have recently paid extra to fix their broken corrugated iron roof that was leaking, and purchased a bed, bedding and a mattress for them as they were sleeping on the floor!
Others helped us by donating too. We were and are so grateful and Beba and her Mum wrote with their heartfelt thanks to everyone.
Beba has to walk a long way to draw water each day from a well and Mum cannot work.
We are aiming to raise a £1000 so Mum can try to recover and then she can retrain and work again.
We also aim to keep Beba out of child marriage and in education, she can be in the project until age 25.
You can help... please sponsor us.
Steve has walked all over the world but I haven't so my first challenge is walking/climbing up Snowdon in Wales.
It won't be easy for me and I have Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue but if Beba can walk miles in the baking sun in Ethiopia to draw water from a well then we can do this to help her.
Together, Steve and I will continue to fundraise for them with the support of our amazing children , our family, our friends and our faith in The Lord Jesus.
Thank you,
