My Challenge:
On Sunday 9th September, I will be taking on the Great North Run for Compassion UK. Not just for my sponsor children but for the millions of other children out there in dire need of the Compassion team and their incredible work.

Definitely not a runner... or someone who likes any form of real exercise but ready to run, jog, power walk and more than likely eventually crawl 13.2 miles to the finish line.

Compassion is a Christian charity passionate about empowering children to overcome the obstacles put in their way by poverty. They focus on one child at a time, as an individual not a number, to partner them with one sponsor who really can make a huge difference.
I first heard about Compassion a few years ago at Hillsong UK Newcastle. I knew instantly I needed to play some sort of part in all this... and so I sponsored my first child.
Fast forward a few years and I now sponsor another little boy... from our VERY OWN Hillsong UK Newcastle Compassion Project in Tanzania.
EVERY penny raised and EVERY child sponsored as a result of me putting myself through the GNR will be put to use in that very Compassion Project! These are OUR kids... and there is still SO much that can be done. I've seen how my small sacrifice can make a huge difference in the lives of these children and I want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to get involved in order to help as many children as possible!
