A 20-year-old journalist for a national newspaper, I'm a lover of all things outdoors, especially walking my dog Buddy. Though I've never been particularly exercise savvy, I'm learning to love running for Compassion.
At 20 years old, I couldn't think of a better time to complete my first marathon. And where else than across the beautiful landscapes of Rwanda.
Last year, I was blessed to be asked to travel to Kenya on a Muskathlon as a journalist working with Compassion. I ran over 13 miles across the Rift Valley, and it was one of the best things I've ever done. This year I'm not here to work though, I'm here to give it my all.
In Kenya I got to see the difference not only donations like these make, but sponsorship has on the lives of hundreds of young people. I was so touched by everything I saw, the moment I landed at Heathrow I decided to sponsor my own child. I now have an added incentive to go to Rwanda - to meet Solange.
The money raised this year will go towards Child Survival Homes, which takes mothers and their young children out of poverty and gives them a home to live in - decreasing the risks of premature deaths in children. This year, the project is looking for a total of £90,000 - an easily achievable amount with the help of generous donations!
Look out for some events run by me coming up in the not too far future - including a Quiz night and a presentation evening. Contact me for more information about both!
