You can even set your own fundraising target.
-
WHY 6KM?
6km is widely regarded as the average distance an individual living in a developing country has to walk to fetch clean water.*
By taking part in the January Challenge, you have an excuse to ask your friends and family to help.
FUNDRAISING DONE YOUR WAY
Just like the physical challenge, we’re putting the fundraising target in your hands!
The only target we’re setting is that as a team, we aim to raise £6,000 towards parental education in Uganda, which costs £45,000
Maybe you will choose £60 or even £600?
We will use one fundraising page for all donations. - Compassionuk.org/Januarychallenge
Just share this page, along with your best running picture and ask fo donations.

WE MAY LIVE SEPARATELY BUT IN JANUARY, WE’RE A FAMILY
There is an African Proverb that says, ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’
Our desire is that you will feel part of a community from all over the UK that is held together by a desire to eradicate extreme poverty.
Wherever you live, you can make a difference with us.
LET’S TRAVEL ROUND UGANDA
The total distance around Uganda is more or less 2299KM.
To cover the 2299KM in 6km stretches would mean 380 lots of 6km.
Join the community taking on one, two, three or more 6km distances throughout January. If you’re cycling the January Challenge, then you could do many more!
TRACKING YOUR PROGRESS
Post your 6kms on whichever GPS tracker you use, let us know and we’ll add up our distances as we go along. Email me your miles to andrewh@compassionuk.org
If you already use Strava, please join our clubs to track your progress:
Compassion Running Club
Compassion Cycling Club
We will track all Club miles for the month of January.
If you don’t have an app which you can use to track the progress, Strava is a free tool which many of the community already use.
Weekly prizes for fundraising and valiant efforts will be awarded and announced on our Compassion Challenges Facebook group.
