What is the Virtual Run?

A virtual run is a run that you can do anywhere, with anyone. For us, we ask that you do this between the dates of 01/11/2020 and 01/12/2020 and the challenge is to see how far you can go in one hour. Whether you aim to run as far as you can, or whether you look to walk for the hour it doesn't matter. The challenge is to push yourself and in so raise money for our Cornavius Appeal.

If you are looking for a bigger challenge, you can always aim to run for one hour every day or week of the month.

What if I don’t reach the fundraising target?

There are no consequences for not reaching the fundraising target. We are confident that as a team you and Compassion will be able to not only reach but exceed your target. There are lots of great ideas of how you can fundraise so let’s get our heads together to plan the best way.

What is the Cornoavirus 'We Rise as One' Appeal?

For those who live in extreme poverty, everything about COVID-19 is magnified: the risk, the fear, the uncertainty, the life-and-death realities. Children and families living in poverty are the most vulnerable in every way. They have no safety net. Hygiene is a luxury for many. If parents can't go out and work due to mandatory isolation, families can't eat.

COVID-19 has greatly increased the need among the countries and communities where our church partners work. In these unprecedented times, we're adapting fast. Our focus is still on caring for children, but when survival is on the line, that means supporting the world around them. During crisis and disaster situations, helping communities and caregivers is often the most critical and immediate way to help children.

That's why our COVID-19 Emergency Appeal is empowering our church partners to extend their care further. Your Fundraising will enable our church partners to provide children, families and wider communities with health and stability through hygiene, food and housing security.
