Challenger Profile
Name:
Steph Worrall
Challenge Date:
17th - 24th September 2020
My Challenge:
(Any other fundraising is currently going to be for the Compassion COVID Appeal)
As one of the team taking part in the Ethiopia Challenge 2021, I am aiming to walk run a half marathon. (21 km / 13 miles) I did this in 2019 in Rwanda, but as there were so many hills, my proportion of running was quite low. This time my challenge is to run more than half the distance.
I am doing this to support the wonderful charity Compassion, both by raising money and by getting children sponsored.
Donations from the team will fund a Child Survival Program in Debrezeit, near Addis Ababa. It will cost just over £11K per year, and we want to fund it for as long as possible. (This breaks down to £31 per day)
During the week we will visit projects around Waliso, about 100km south-west of Addis Ababa. If you choose to support me by sponsoring a child, I should be able to meet your child, take a gift and bring back photos.

I am a 67* year old non-runner, with a passion for Compassion. *After the COVID delay, if we manage to go in 2021, I'll be 68 - an even tougher challenge!
This is my fourth mad challenge for Compassion, and an opportunity to meet Tamirat (19) who wants to be a doctor, and Feyfitu (12).
I am taking part because I believe in what Compassion does. I've had the privilege of visiting sponsored children in East Africa over the last twelve years, and have no doubt that my money makes a difference in children's lives!
