I am married to Ruth and have 3 boys aged 16, 23 and 28 and live in Linlithgow, Scotland. I am a Christian and a member of St John's Church in Linlithgow,

I have been in the energy industry all my working life and currently work for SSE.

We sponsor a child in Ethiopia and I am hopefully going to meet Dawit when I am there.

I want to raise as much as possible to support Compassion in their truly life changing work.

Nearly 385 million children are currently living in extreme poverty. Poverty can be a boy sent to work on the rubbish heap, rather than go to a classroom or a girl forced to marry because her family can’t support her.

From the womb to early adulthood, Compassion stands for children, giving those born into the toughest of circumstances the opportunities they deserve.

Compassion also reach at-risk children even before they’ve been born. Through the provision of pre and post-natal care, nutrition, vaccinations plus critical support and training for mums, they give children the best start in life.

All of the money donated will go directly to Compassion UK to help vulnerable children who live in poverty.
