We're a fairly active but not especially fit family!  We love our bike rides though, and getting out to explore the beautiful area in which we live.  18km in one day is going to be a challenge for all of us, especially those with the littlest legs...but we hope we can make a small difference.

We're living in Karlskrona, Sweden, for a year, and we love the cycle lanes here so much; we liked the idea of using them to benefit others as well as ourselves!  We're also surrounded by the water of the Baltic Sea here, and loads of lakes and rivers - and we try not to take our ready access to clean, fresh water too much for granted.  We sponsor a little girl via Compassion and like the principle of trying to change the world one precious life at a time.  Our January Challenge is a teeny, practical way that we can try to 'make things better' by fundraising for a rainwater catchment system for children in Haiti who still don't have ready access to fresh water.
